This genuine, quality Australian opal pendant has been inlaid with a stunning Coober Pedy (Old 15 Mile field) opal on a Queensland opal boulder backing (inlaid doublet) in a solid 14 karat gold setting with a natural 1.7mm diamond.
Cut from an ancient opalised sea shell, this piece displays striking bands of multicolor crystal opal that run the gamut of the spectrum and in particular, rare red and blue fire.
This quality opal is valued at $700 per carat. There are around 1.5 carats of opal inlaid in this piece.
